How to Set a Wallpaper on Android
On Android, open the downloaded image in Gallery or Photos, tap the menu or Set as, then choose Wallpaper. Samsung and Pixel use the same idea with slightly different button names.
1. Download an Android-sized image
Pick the Android or Samsung download on the wallpaper page when it is available. A portrait file matches the phone better than a desktop landscape file.
2. Open it in Gallery or Photos
Samsung uses Gallery. Pixel uses Google Photos. Open the image you just saved.
3. Tap Set as wallpaper
On Samsung, tap the menu and choose Set as wallpaper. On Pixel, tap the menu and choose Use as, then Wallpaper.
4. Pick the screens
Choose Home screen, Lock screen, or both. Adjust the crop, then apply. Live or video wallpapers are a separate control under Wallpaper and style, and they need a video file.
Questions
Does this work on Samsung and Pixel?
Yes. Both are Android. Samsung Gallery labels the action Set as wallpaper. Pixel labels it Use as, then Wallpaper.
How do I set a live wallpaper on Android?
Download the video file, then long-press the home screen, open Wallpapers, and pick the video or live wallpaper option. A still JPEG cannot animate.
